Not all news in 2020 is bad. Love does not get cancelled.

The good news is the inaugural presentation of the Couple of The Year contest. This is not an ordinary contest where you enter your name and keep your fingers crossed that your name will be picked. Rather, it’s an ingenious way to share your love story. It’s a rare and wonderful thing to fall in love with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. Every couple has that magic moment, be it the special way they proposed or accepted, or the unique wedding photo that captures the true love between couples. We want to hear about it.

The early Egyptians regarded circles as symbolizing eternity. Small braided hoops were worn on the left-hand ring finger, the one said to have a vein running directly to the heart. In 1477, Archduke Maximillian of Austria proposed to Mary of Burgundy with a diamond, the first in recorded history. Each story is different. Yours may not be as glamorous but every bit as romantic.

If you’ve purchased an engagement ring, anniversary band, or wedding bands from La Mine d’Or in 2019 or 2020, you and your partner are eligible. It’s easy. This is not a one-time contest. Soon to be famous, The Couple of the Year will become an annual contest. One way for us to say Thank You.

We will be drawing our winning 2020 couple on December 31st, 2020. For those of you who are planning engagement or bridal celebrations over the holidays, don’t worry, you will be included in the Couple of The Year 2021 contest.
